The Save Healesville Hospital Community Group met with members of the Board of Eastern Health last week. Read our submission at this meeting – SHHCG_EH Board Presentation_200213

What should we spend our energy and money on?

The development of the 2013 – 2017 Council Plan is happening! For those not aware this is the key document outlining what we commit to deliver in the next 4 years. It is so important that everyone has their say about what is important and what should be our priorities. To make your voice heard take 5 minutes to fill in the survey

Save our Healesville Hospital

Healesville Hospital has been at the centre of the Yarra Valley communities health for many decades. Eastern Health over the past years have begun to wind back our services and most recently have removed maternity services.

As the 300 strong voices at the Memo Hall meeting in December last year showed, we are not happy. As part of a community action group I am working to turn the tide.

Commonsense

Continuing chats with residents raise a huge number of issues all linked to the idea that we need COMMONSENSE from Council. Whether it be allowing farmers to build barns without a huge planning battle, allowing small businesses to convert to solar power without blocking them, realising that the high costs of getting rid of your rubbish at the tip or dealing with issues consistently – it is time for changes at Yarra Ranges Council. I will keep talking to everyone and if elected will certainly work my way through the many issues that people continue to tell me about.

Supporter of Libraries

I have always been a strong supporter of libraries and still take my kids there often BUT our new library is not an inviting space or community hub and seems to have hardly any books. It is certainly one of me election issues and I read the

Healesville Library Action Plan with great interest. This 4 page document of motherhood statements wasn’t the reassurance I was looking for – have a look and make up your own mind….. click here.
